This place is very famous in Akihabara for its super crazy hot but too delicious Mapo Tohfu. This place is always full of people, I think half of people are Chinese people too.
If you would like to taset real Sichuan (super hot) cousine, you must visit this place! Price is very reasonalble, you get 2 piece of fried chiken (kara-age) , salad, dessart, and rice along with your main dish at lunch and cost around 850yen.
Their wonderful spice (I don’t know which pepper they use or anything though) make my body really hot from deep inside…and it is soooo addictive!!!!
菊すし（Kikusushi) is located nearby Izumi bridge over Kanda River. (3min from Akihabara station’s showadori exit). This place is special that I cannot go to lunch so often. Today, my elder coworker (older but not my boss, he is in different department and he’s like an elder brother, it is called “Sempai” in Japanese…) took me and my friend at work! Yay!
Udon place in Akihabara (about 10 min walk). It’s called DAMON (not English damon..)駄文. I come here for luch 2~3 times in a month. My favorite is MAKANAI udon. Damon is my selcond favorite Udon place! (NO1 in Akihabara is “KASUGA”春日）
Today, lunch time was chilly, we went out for RAMEN place. This time we tried SHIOYA MARUCHO. I tried SHIO, (SALT) special with boiled egg and CHASYU pork and WANTAN) and my friend tried SYOYU (SOY SAUCE base).
RAMEN, there are many kinds. SHIO (Salt soup), SYOUYU (Soy sauce soup), MISO (Miso, like Miso soup’s Miso base), then TONKOTSU (Pork bone broth base)…All tastes just wonderful..RAMEN…
From JR Akihabara Showadori exit : You see big crosswalk in front of your self, but do not cross it. Turn right, go straight about 100m, and you’ll soon see the next crosswalk and the relatively tall building with Japanese kanji 書泉, it’s a book store. You pass the book store on your right and also pass the Izumi bridge over Kanda river, and will walk a few meters, then will find RAMEN SHIOYA MARUCHO when you make turn right at the next corner.
This is absolutely where you must go. Curry and Udon (Japanese noodle) collaboration…Curry Udon. Curry Udon is also very popular menu in our everyday dish. As you know UDON and CURRY is our one of most eaten menu in daily life….(for me, it is!)
Eng address: Chiyodaku, Iwamoto cho, 2-15-8 (about 10min walk from JR Akihabara Syowa-dori exit)
SENKICKI services many kinds of Curry Udon, very spicy but soooo yummy. This time I ordered “Red Senkichi” mainly taste like Thai green curry and a freind of mine ordered “Spicy Senkichi”which I knew it is hot but not from Thai green curry taste…There is also “Black” with rich buillon. Woderful taste!! I love all of them. See 4 major curry menu SENKICHI
Akihabara Senkichi is always full with salaryman, no tourist ever. After 13:00 you can enter easily, but before that it is sooo full!
The place to have luch with your friends. Delicious food. It is said “Bistro” “French Cousine”, but I guess it’s Japanized French and just so tasty! While other local place is more like for “Salary mans” (Japanese worker especially men worker”), this place targets women, I think. BUDOU フレンチ食堂ぶどう
Go to SHOWA Dori Exit, Go straigh pass the crosswalk, turn right, go straight, just next to IZUMIBASHI, in front of MIZUHO ATM.

Not many mid-aged Salary man or groups of mid-aged salary man eat here as long as I obsesrve. Those “OJISAN” (mid-aged salary men) usually go to “TEISHOKU-YA” (local restaurant usually serves meal sets, which icludes rice, miso soup, main dish and the side dish like vegitable or salad )finishing up thier lunch in less than 30min or so….Pls refer my guide for SUGINO-AKARI, my favorate TEISHOKUYA in Akihabara.
